Originally I took a six month leave of absence in 2007 to have a cross-cultural family experience in Guatemala. After we returned to Canada, our oldest asked if we could return. We patted her on the head like Cindy Lou Who waited for the feeling to pass. It didn’t. We returned for a short visit in 2008. I took another leave of absence from work in 2009. We still weren’t done with Guatemala. I said good bye to my job of 21 years and we moved there permanently in 2010. In August 2012 we moved back to North America. I’m working on our travel logs from 2007 to 2012.
