While Paul and I were on the cruise, our patio furniture was delivered. With it, many huge boxes perfect for making a clubhouse. When the girls were young, Paul and I would always have a weekly date night, even when life was hectic. And life was always hectic. On these nights, we would often return to a maze-like structure, teepee, yurt, or clubhouse made with a table, grand piano, or hockey stick frame. Their ingenuity, impressive. The mazes were real, since we’d have to crawl through the windy beast to find their little sleeping bodies tucked in random corners, with a posse of stuffed animals.
So after the cruise, it tugged at many nostalgic strings when we opened the door to find a 3-bedroom cardboard structure, complete with secret back passageway, doggie door, and solarium. I hope they never outgrow their ability to be creative and have fun together.
